It's a light cosmetic procedure that's easy, painless and not invasive - and it is definitely NOT the surgical procedure called with a similar sounding name, "dermabrasion".
It is used to reduce the impact of hyper-pygmentation of the skin, as well as wrinkles, fine lines and some superficial forms of acne scarring. It is also a very good preparation for cream-based treatments, where removal of the dead cell layer can increase absorption up to 40%, even 50%.
For a better idea of what the treatment is about, watch our Silvia perform microdermabrasion in the video below.
There's one more reason to get a treatment... we use products from our new skincare range. They're good for the Earth and terrific for your skin!
How it works
At Balmain Massage, microdermabrasion is performed by fully trained beauty therapists who use a sophisticated electronic-controlled machine and an exfoliating material such as very fine diamond flakes to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells. The same machine used for the exfoliating process also produces a gentle suction, adjustable according to different skin types, to aid in the removal of dead cells. It's a very safe procedure with minimal or no recovery time - after their sessions, clients can return immediately to their normal activities. Typically, its effect last for full a skin regeneration cycle (about a month) although successive treatments, performed a minimum of two weeks apart, can produce lasting results.
